NCB statement regarding the detention of Faek Hwaijeh

Syrian authorities detained yesterday (24/6/2013) our friend Mr. Faek Hwaijeh when he was returning from Lebanon. Faek, a lawyer by profession, is a prominent legal and political activist who has participated and coordinated several political activities with the NCB and several organisations in Syrian civil society. We at the NCB condemn his arbitrary detention, voice solidarity with our friend, and demand that he be released immediately.
